That being said the order in which I wish I got the expansions are as follows: Traders and Barbarians (with 5 new ways to play it adds a lot of new ways to play especially with the combination of 2 or more), Seafarers (to increase the map size), Cities and Knights (a great expansion and with the size and already add 5 game types this is another addition that can be worked into the game quite well). In my opinion all three are amazing and each add a new layer of strategy and gameplay elements that can make each game different. There are other rules I believe that I may not know, but, I do know there is the addition of boats as well as another resource, gold, which acts as anything I believe. The big thing about this one is the size expansion. Seaferers ( This I do not own but have read and heard from friends some details). Some of them add tiles to the board, others include caravans, as well as fishing. However I can only speak about three as I've only played with 3 of the 5. It is quite the versatile expansion, as you can play just one of the five expansions inside or all or any variety you choose. Traders and Barbarians is 5 separate expansions in one. You use these to upgrade your city and give yourself special upgrades as well as a possible 2 more points. Without going over all the rules, in this you can build knights to defend cities and for every city on a sheep (wool), ore, or wood will collect one resource and a commodity (leather, coin, and paper). It adds a lot more depth to Settlers without expanding the size. The biggest addition is the Knights, Barbarian attacks, and commodities. I'll try to do this the best I can having only 2 of the 3.Ĭities and Knights add a couple new things to the game as well as some new pieces. r/tabletopgamedesign - Designer's subreddit.r/boardgameexchange - selling/buying/trading games.Game of the Week Calendar Related Sites & Subreddits The simplest use is to bold game names in your comment and add " /u/r2d8 getinfo" at the end of the post, but this post/sub has other features identified.
